Splash into Books this Summer: R E A D!

May 30, 2013 at 5:05 pm

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer break so far: at least it has finally heated up for us!  If you haven’t already visited the Scott County Public Library to sign up for their Summer Reading Program, I hope you will do so in the coming days.  I was  there just yesterday signing up for their summer reading program myself and naturally came home with a stack of books.  When you visit, please seek out Mrs. Mary Lou, Mr. Mike or Mr. Tyler.  They are so well-read in the areas of teen and young adult literature, and they would be thrilled to assist you with book selection.  I would also encourage you to consult the R E A D I N G  L I S T that I compiled to keep you reading this summer.  As you read, please maintain a list of books read on your public library summer reading log.  In order to attend their annual pool party, you’ll need to turn these into the public library by July 31st.  Once your book log has been returned to you, please keep it until you can also turn it into me during the first week of the 2013-2014 school year for a special invite to our very own yard party!!!!!

I hope you’ll read everyday this summer!  I look so forward to hearing about your favorite summer reads.

Mrs. M
